Smith’s Angaston 15 Year-Old Australian Single Malt Whisky
Filled into 11 hogshead casks on 15 March 2000, comprising of nine 3-year-old French casks previously used for white wine, one 5-year-old American and one old sherry cask.
Right from the outset vintage 2000 showed all the hallmarks of becoming an outstanding whisky. Regular tastings over the years showed a pleasing progression in flavour development, the 3 year old French casks particularly exhibiting great diversity in richness and complexity.
This is the fourth single cask from the 2000 distillation to be released. Each has been selected for individual expression of the Smith’s whisky style. Only 428 Bottles of the 15 Year Old were produced!!
Dark in colour, this sweet, bold and complex whisky has real presence and impact. With toffee, licorice, spices and smoke and a sweet caramel syrupy fruitiness, the spirit adds freshness and liveliness.
